Backpacks aren’t just for back to school — nothing has improved the life of the style-conscious New Yorker as much as the fashion backpack trend. As a freelance designer I often carry my office on my back and after I had to say goodbye to a shoulder tote about two years ago I struggled to pull out the old college JanSport.

Thank goodness all my favorite brands have now added backpacks to their handbag collections! I now have a carry-all backpack that fits my laptop that I load up for work and too-many-t0-count purse size backpacks to fit both my outfit or my mood.
